How we handle your data

DutchGreenhouses® respects your privacy and processes personal data only where it is needed, transparently and in line with the GDPR. This statement explains what we collect, why, and what rights you have. If anything is unclear, we would rather you asked us than wondered — please get in touch.

What we collect and why. When you submit the contact form, we store the details you provide — such as your name, email address, company and message — to answer your request and, where relevant, to follow up about a possible greenhouse project. When you sign in to use the Climate Design Studio, our free online tool, we receive your name and email address from your Google account, and we store the information you enter into the tool — including the project location or address, crop and greenhouse configuration you choose — together with the analyses you generate. We use this both to provide the tool and to contact you about greenhouse solutions that may be relevant to you. We do not sell your data.

Climate Design Studio (free tool). The Climate Design Studio is offered free of charge in exchange for a few details about you. By signing in with Google and using the tool, you agree to this privacy statement and to our storing your account details, your inputs and your results — and you consent to a member of our team contacting you about your project and our products and services. You can ask us to stop, or to erase your data, at any time (see ‘Your rights’ below).

Climate personalisation. This website tailors what you see to your local growing climate. To do this it derives an approximate region from your IP address on the server, and looks up historical climate data using rounded coordinates only — accurate to roughly ±50 km, never your precise location. Your IP address itself is not stored and is not shared with any third party; it is used momentarily to estimate your region and then discarded.

Cookies and analytics. The site uses a limited set of cookies and tags (including Google Tag Manager) to keep the site working and to understand, in aggregate, how it is used so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and non-essential tags are only used where permitted.

Legal basis and retention. We process contact, lead and Climate Design Studio data on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and following up on possible greenhouse projects, and — for the free tool — on the consent you give when you sign in and use it. We keep this personal data only as long as needed for these purposes, and in any case no longer than 24 months after your last activity, unless a longer period is required by law, after which it is deleted. You can withdraw your consent or ask us to erase your data at any time.

Your rights. Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
